The Dahej Harbour and Infrastructure Ltd (DHIL) jetty is situated on the east side of the Gulf of Khambhat in the Arabian Sea, in Gujarat. The jetty is 50 kms from Bharuch and is linked by a four-lane road to NH-8 and by broad gauge rail connection at Bharuch.
It provides a single berth for ships of 11,000-70,000 DWT. The berth has a length of 210 metres, of which 129.6 metres is the berthing face. It is connected to dry land by a 1,044 metres long and 10.5 metres wide concrete pile support pier and 1,320 metres long rubble bund road, running east-west. It has a maximum draught of 13.0 metres. |

Pilotage is compulsory. Two tugs of 40 tonnes bollard pull are available for pilotage. The jetty has one FIGEE and one TRF kangaroo-type ship-unloader of each 26 tonnes SWL.

The outreach of the FIGEE and TRF cranes from the centre of the belt conveyor is 35 metres and 38 metres, respectively. The unloaders feed a belt conveyor running parallel to the jetty. This dry bulk cargo is then transferred to a 450 mm dia (3.2 km long) pipe conveyor to the transfer/sampling tower for further conveying to the respective yards. |
