About the port

Navlakhi is an all-weather lighterage working port located at inner position of Gulf of Kutch on the west coast of India.

Port Connectivity

Port is well connected with State Highway (SH-24) Broad gauge rail link is connected with the jetty National Highway (NH-8A) is 50 km away from Morbi and 55 km away from Maliya Nearest urban center Morbi is about 50 km away from the port Nearest airport Rajkot is about 100 km away from the port

Prospective Development

A multi-purpose terminal by DMCC is proposed at the port with installed capacity of 4 MMTPA. The terminal is likely to be completed by the year 2014-15. The total estimated cost of the project is INR 300 crore. GoG/GMB has approved the detailed project report (DPR). Environment clearance is awaited.

R.C.C. Jetty of 163 m long & 25 m width having depth of water available as 4.5 m and capacity of jetty to received up to 3000 DWT capacity vessels.

Deep water lighter age private piled-jetty of 102 m. at Vershmedi Side
Deep water lighterage private wharf of 92 mo n Sui side.
Private silo developed for cement product on Sui side

Tug: 1 Launch: 1 Crane: 2. Private barges are arranged by port user that enables handling of 10,000 to 15,000 metric tonnes of cargo per day.

Proposed additional facilities/Investment plans

1. Port terminal facilities at Bagasara
2. The Rajkot and Surendranagar District produces sanitary wares, glazed tiles, vitreous tiles, wall clocks and other electrical goods, which have very good scope for exports. Currently, exporters use container terminal at Mundra and Kandla. There are good opportunities to set up container handling facilities at Navlakhi Port on Sui Creek for feeder container vessel. Adequate land for container stacking yard is also made available.
Estimated cost of the project is INR 500 million
