Veraval is a fair-weather lighterage Port. It is situated in the south-west coast of Saurashtra on the west coast of India.

Anchorage

Anchorage is about 1.5 Kms offshore. At anchorage, three vessels can work at a time and a small Coaster at berth with a 3 Meter Draft.

• Berthing Quay 5 Nos. - 500 RM

• Fish - Landing Wharf Finger Jetties - 5 Nos. x 60 M x 5 M.

Facilities   :

• Grab Dredger of Bhavnagar
• Coles Crane : ranging from 12.5 to 16 tonne capacity, (Mobile) – 3 nos.

Planned Activities:

• This Port is mainly engaged for fishing activities. Commercial operations are extremely limited. Provision of separate facilities for fishing and commercial activities is being considered, near the eastern breakwater, to reduce congestion at the Port and provide better facilities for commercial traffic.

• Development of a virgin site near Veravel is under consideration, to cater to the industrialization taking place on the Jafrabad-Veraval coastal belt. Simar, which is approximately 27 kms., south-west of Jafrabad and around 90 Kms., East of Veraval has been identified for development as a deep water port. This site is close to the fishing centers of Nava Bunder and Rajpara on either side. A draft of 20 m. is quite favorable, with a contour running at a distance of just 2 kms. From the store.

Import : Wood Pulp, Food grains, Fertilizers, Coal & coke and Pig Iron.
Export :Oil Cakes, Fish, Onions, Lime Stone, Lime Powder, Soda Ash and Cement.
