With India striving to enter the global mainstream, an
offspring of a slew of proactive export policy measures announced
in the Exim Policy 2000-2001 by the honourable Union Commerce and
Industry Minister, Mr Murasoli Maran, were the Special Economic
Zones. It was defined as "Specifically delineated dutyfree
enclaves and deemed to be foreign for the purpose of trade
operations, suties and tariffs". |
