Main Criteria:
Porbandar is an all-weather Port with direct berthing facilities. It is situated on the west coast of Saurashtra facing the Arabian Sea.

1.3 mln tonnes;

3.3 mln tonnes;

• MHWN – 2.38 meters
• MLWS – 1.46 meters
• MSL – 1.82 meters

Anchorage

Anchorage is about 2 Kms. Offshore, South Eastward of Lighthouses with good holding ground and a depth over 10 Meters. Distance of closest anchor point from the last jetty of the ports towards sea .1.2 Nautical Mile (Anchorage during normal weather).

Draft

Draft available at anchor point 15 mtrs. & At jetties 9.5 mtrs.

Harbour Structures :-

Wharf for Steamers : Length 385 meters(235 meter GMB wharf and 150 meter Private Jetty) with permissible draft up to 9.50 Meters. Breakwater of length 2650 meter. 160 meter RCC Jetty constructed for coast guard (Navy)

• Water barge : 01 No. (40 T capacity)
• Crane : 01 No. (16 T capacity)
• 01 No. (12.5 T capacity)
• 01 No. (75 T capacity) Tata P&H
• Godown facility : 2,41,173 sq.mtrs.
   

Planned Activities:

• Eastern break-water facilities.
• M/s Saurashtra Cement Ltd. has constructed 150 meter long Jetty adjoining to GMB wharf and operation commenced from November 2000

Infrastructure:
Porbandar is connected to the rest of India by broad gauge railway. It is connected to Rajkot by road and then by National Highway. Nearest airport is Porbandar.

Saurashtra Cement & Chemicals and HMP cements;

Commodities Handled:
Import: Fertilizers, Coal & LPG
Export: Oil Cakes, Groundnuts, HPS, Salt, Cement/Clinker, Chemicals, Raw Cotton, Clay Bauxite, Building Materials, Reefer Cargo, Onions and Fruits.
