Main Criteria:
Okha is an all weather Port with direct berthing facilities. It is situated on the northwest coast of Saurashtra Peninsula, at the mouth of the Gulf of Kutch on the west coast of India.

1.8 mln tonnes;

Trade estimate 2010:
1.8 mln tonnes;

• MHWS – 3.50 meters

Anchorage

Road stead anchorage is 2.4 kms. Offshoe. Vessel upto 9 Meters draft and of any Length can call.

• Tug – 1No. 3,400 BHP
• Tug – 1No. 1,600 BHP
• Tug – 2 No. 382 BHP
• Barges – Private barges are available (no port barges)
• Launch : 01 No. Passenger launch
• Cranes – 1 Nos. (16 T Capacity)
• Warehousing & Storage facilities – 16 Godowns
   

Planned Activities:

• The Port has two jetties which can be equipped with modern mechanical handling systems to enhance the rate of loading/discharge. Capital dredging near the berth, is being considered in the turning circle and entrance channel to increase the draft available.

• There is an excellent opportunity to set a deep-draft, all weather, direct berthing Port, close to Okha in the Positra Bay and on the south of Beyt Dwarka. Very good depths are available here, for construction of a full-fledged port complex, which can function round the year.

• M/s Wimco Petrogas Ltd. is going to construct a jetty to handle petroleum  Products.

Industries:
Tata Chemicals, PIL- (Petroleum Infrastructure LTD) and a power station at 12 km of the port;

Infrastructure:
Okha is connected to the rest of India by board gauge railway system. It is connected by road to Jamnagar/Porbandar and then by National Highway. Nearest airport is Jamnagar, which is 180 Kms away.

Import:Mineral Oil, Coal, Wheat, Sulphur, Coke, Fertiliser
Export:Raw Bauxite, Calcium Bauxite, Chemicals, Salt, Clinker
