Mundra is a GMB lighter port and has a
private salt and bentonite (Ashapura) loading jetty. It is situated in Bocha
Creek, in the Gulf of Kutch on the west coast of India.

Planned Activities:

Gujarat Adani Port Ltd., a joint sector company with M/s Adani Port Ltd. &
GPIDCL, has been formed mainly for the development of Mundra Port. The Company
has completed the construction of multi-purpose berth having four berths. The
multi-purpose jetties are in operation and have facilities to handle liquid
and solid cargo. The Company has also commenced construction of container
berth.

Pursuant to the port policy, GMB has also allotted 60
mtrs. Waterfront for
the construction of jetty and to use for cargo handling on lease basis to M/s
Ashapura Minechem Ltd. This jetty is being developed by the company as a part
of private investment in existing port. The construction of the jetty is
completed and will be operational soon

A board gauge railway line connecting to Mundra Port is nearing
completion.
Industries:
Salt and onions are captive production.
Infrastructure:
Mundra is connected to Gandhidham by road and then by National
Highway and by broad gauge railway to the rest of India. Nearest airports are
Kandla and Bhuj
Commodities Handled :
Import: Timber, Waste Oil, Waste Tyre, Dry Dates, Fertilizers and Iron
Scrap.
Export: Salt, Onion, Sanitary wares, Cattle Feed, Bentonite, Dry Grass,
Suran, Watermelons, Marble Slabs, Mica & Manglore Tiles.
