You have reached the inaugural edition of "GMB e-Musing" - the first e-magazine of Gujarat Maritime Board- one of the most successful Maritime authorities of the country. Musing means to think or meditate in silence. It also means to comment thoughtfully ruminating upon any subject. This was the rationale behind naming it as "GMB e-Musing" signifying the deep thought process of Gujarat Maritime Board for successful development of Gujarat ports sector. And since the magazine is only in an electronic version, adding the 'e' was just apt.

GMB has always been a pioneer in the field of maritime sector; be it policy-making or implementation of those policies, be it the initiative of opening up privatization in the Ports sector or be it coming out with various editions of different models for investment. Continuing with the trend and adding a new feather to the cap of achievements, we are out with this e-magazine which shall feature the current achievements and future policies of Gujarat Maritime Board, bringing out various perspectives of issues related to ports seeking the answers for efforts required for efficient development of Gujarat ports.

Since this is the first issue of "GMB e-Musing" it is imperative that we talk about ourselves. Rummaging through the first issue, you will come across the journey that has made GMB what it is today and the achievements that we have notified throughout this journey. We owe our success to the proactive policies of the State, the initiatives taken by the administrators and the people who have been governing this organization. Gujarat Maritime Board has built upon its legacy on the rich Maritime past. How could we not have included the same in our first issue?

The super success of Vibrant Gujarat Global Business Hub – 2011 is the testimony of the evolvement of Brand Gujarat built by our Hon'ble Chief Minister Shri Narendrabhai Modi. Gujarat Maritime Board tasted phenomenal success in all the areas of Vibrant Gujarat Summit – 2011; be it the Seminar that brought diverse topics and legendary speakers on a single dais, be it companies of every stature that have showed their interest in development of projects in ports sector by signing MOUs or be it our participation in exhibition that attracted classes and masses alike. And thus the performance story of Gujarat Maritime Board in Vibrant Gujarat – 2011 forms the Cover Story of the first edition of "GMB e-Musing".

The first edition and all the upcoming editions of "GMB e-Musing" shall have a section to be addressed by the who's who of the Maritime sector presenting their views on topics of their excellence lending a field of thoughts and ideas for the industry to cultivate upon the best practices for development of the sector in right directions. This and a little something more is subsumed in the very first issue of "GMB e-Musing".

Though we have put our best foot forward trying to do justice to the inaugural issue of the magazine being launched by the organization handling the affairs of the leading maritime state of the nation, we very humbly accept any errors that in spite of our best efforts would have remained inadvertently there. The editorial board and team looks forward in receiving all the suggestions and feedback that would help us serving the scope of this magazine better.
