Hon'ble Chief Minister
It is a happy coincidence to note that Gujarat Maritime Board is launching an E-Magazine titled GMB e-musing on 5th April, 2011, which happens to be the National Maritime Day and also GMB's Foundation Day. As you all will agree, Gujarat's story of growth is of incredible natural endowment, enterprise, initiative and vision and, epitomizing all these qualities are her ports. If today Gujarat is reckoned as the Port Capital of India, it is due to the pioneering efforts of the Gujarat port sector. Not resting on its laurels, GMB has been on a roll, right from its day of inception in 1982. The phenomenal success achieved by the port sector in the recently concluded Vibrant Gujarat Summit stands testimony to this.
Now, Gujarat has also gone ahead and ventured into building a new industry - the shipbuilding industry and I am particularly proud of the fact that Gujarat is now considered the Hub of Shipbuilding in India.
Like I have said earlier, we have a vision to achieve maritime excellence. Our vision is as deep as the ocean and is as vast as the ocean. GMB's initiative to come out with an E - Magazine on 5th April, reinforces its commitment to development It will not only enhance the reach of GMB, but will also create a forum for the industry to exchange views on port and its allied sectors.
I congratulate Mr. Pankaj Kumar, VC & CEO-GMB and his team for this endeavor.

Narendra Modi
Chief Minister,
Gujarat State
